S. law or other applicable law and regulations (including federal, state and local laws and regulations and regulations of regulatory or administrative organizations) or otherwise engage in any illegal, manipulative or misleading activity through the use of the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program; iv) Disable any licensing or control features of the Site; v) Introduce into the Site or into the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program any virus or other code or routine intended to disrupt the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program, alter or delete its Content, access confidential Content on the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program, retrieve or record information about the Site or its users, or interfere with the operation of the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program, including, but not limited to, distribution of unsolicited advertising or mail messages and propagation of computer worms and viruses; vi) Merge the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program with another program or create derivative works based on the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program; vii) Post any material in any form whatsoever on the Site or within the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program that is defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful or violates any third party's right of privacy or publicity; viii) Sublicense, assign, translate, rent, lease, lend, resell for profit, distribute or otherwise assign or transfer the content of or access to the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program to others; viii) Infringe any third party's patent, copyright, service mark, trademark or other intellectual property right of any kind or misappropriate the trade secrets of any third party in connection with your use of the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program, or remove, obscure, or alter any notice of the copyright or other proprietary legends on the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program; or (ix) Otherwise act in a fraudulent, illegal, malicious or negligent manner when using the Site or the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program. Except as expressly provided herein, Cinemark reserves all rights with respect to the Site and the Cinemark Movie Rewards Program, and may pursue all legally available options under both civil and criminal laws (and may cooperate with law enforcement agencies) in the event of any violations. Its Riseboroughs show in the end, as she investigates the house's full history, but everyone gets their own harrowing sequence, and theres a gratifying genre thrill in seeing an actor like William Sadler (playing a detective who cursed himself by investigating a murder years ago) tear through a flashback that shows how he was driven mad, which includes some great body horror. The same goes for Jacki Weaver, who is more compelling in a scene of being terrorized at a grocery store than the freaky stuff happening around her.  While juggling these different lives in different timelines, Pesce achieves a seamlessness that creates a backstory more about the entitys kill count than it does individual characters. But he gets a strong pacing, all while telling the same downhill trajectory of how these people unwittingly cursed themselves, and became prey to a force that has little logic other than to appear in the shadows, be angry, and be consistent. In Pesces hands, the supernatural force that attacks these characters isnt like the bad-luck ghost from Shimizus version, but feels as ever-present and ruthless as grief itself.     Pesces “The Grudge” often leads his uniformly strong cast to a jump-scare, and those jolts prove to be its least exciting attribute. Not just because of their generic construction (though Pesce can wind them up like a pro) but the pay-off, of seeing shadowy, wet figures scream with their eyes blacked out, sometimes introduced by the goofy slow croaking sound that “The Grudge” has made canon. Yes, theres ghoulish stuff involving tubs and showers, but they play more like “Grudge” visual cues than standalone anxious sequences. Theres a lot of peekaboos in "The Grudge. too many for what makes the movie good, and by the third act they feel like an awkward part of the transaction in watching a horror film made by a studio that needs a good trailer. Yet while its not very good at being scary, “The Grudge” excels at being unsettling. It proves to be a worthwhile fit for Pesce, whose relentless directorial debut “ The Eyes of My Mother ” is an automatic dare for any horror fan who hasnt seen it; an act of emotional terrorism on its audience as much as its characters. Seeing the original Grudge movies and then seeing this new movie sparks a certain sadness in the creation of movies today. The fact that the directors would think wasting millions of dollars on a very poor "remake" such as this baffles me. I have never been this disappointed in the movie industry. Don't waste your money. The grudge. Why was this made? Why did they think it was a good idea to remake this? Why does it take the plot of the original film and throw it out the window? Why does it look like an uninspired, totally predictable, and an overall sorry excuse of a horror film? It's 2020, people! A new decade is already here. STOP REMAKING STUFF THAT DOESN'T NEED TO BE REMADE!
So get this: it's a remake of the film that is a remake of the Japanese Horror film: Ju-On: The Grudge (fantastic movie, BTW) and they took that and made it into one of the most predictable stupid films ever. And it's already 2020, and I thought unnecessary remakes were outlawed (they should be. I don't even see who is the target audience of this film, and I don't see who will watch this film a second time.
Weak Storyline, Bad Cinematography, and Unnecessary Jump Scares makes this film not worth your money. What a complete disaster! TERRIBLE film.

Before I went to the movies to see it with my friends, we looked up the reviews and saw how terrible it did. But as usual, we usually don't pay much attention to them because each film has potential. But wow. shouldn't we have listened to the the reviews.
This movie did have okay jump scares but unfortunately they were all predictable. I really try not to predict what happens in horror movies because it honestly ruins the surprise at hand. So I tried to go with the flow of what the director handed to us and his direction of the film, but it was just too bad.
At times, the shots weren't so bad but once they had a glimpse of good cinematography, it goes away like it was just an anthology clip. I probably won't see this film a second time. I don't see why anyone else would.
